Revisiting...Vigan, Ilocos Sur

Now here's a historical trip. Vigan was a 2 nights, 3 day gimmick and it was expensive (ahahah). But it was all worth it. As you can see, the photos are more personalized. We finally had a camera with us to capture the moments (wink).

To start of, I would like to personally say that Vigan is really a unique place which portrays a mixture of Asian, Spanish and Latin American heritage. It was established in the 16th century and I think, it is the only existing Spanish Colonial town (the best preserved I guess) in Asia.

So at any rate, we stayed at the Vigan Plaza Hotel. It is situated right at the heart of the city and it was really convenient because you can already see the cobbled stones, the 300 plus old houses, the calesas hanging about, the plaza itself and the majestic St. Paul Cathedral just by standing outside your hotel!

Frankly, 3 days was not enough to go through the whole city. But nonetheless, we made sure that we could get to see the Bell Church, the old house of father Jose Bugos (one of the GOMBURZA celebrities), the school of Emilio Aguinaldo, we had a ride around the city using the classic calessa, and we even visited one of the resorts on the outskirts of the city (we had to ourselves again - giggle).

Then who could forget the prestigious Baluarte. Man! That place was a majestic zoo! it was my first time to see a real live tiger, to hold a chimp, to get close to a giant chicken (heheh - I meant ostrich), to see herds of mountain deers, watch dwarf ponnies, be afraid of the big male horse, and watch a big, b
ig, big (did I say big?) snake eat it's breakfast (i think it was one whole chicken).

My goodness, I really can't put everyting to words. You have to be there to experience the thrill. At the same, I felt humbled as well, knowing that two hundred years ago, this city was ruled by foreigners. The locals were most likely opressed, forced to follow the dictates of a King who has not even set foot to this soil.
And now, this city is being admired...magical on it's own becasue anyone who visits could feel like they get transported back in time.

I suggest that you guys visit it. Explore the place by day and snuggle with ovey dove by night (wink)!

Revisiting...Bauang, La Union

Cabana Beach Resort this was our second get away trip with Glen. When you go to Bauang, La Union, you would already see different hotels and resorts side by side each other the moment that you step down from the bus.

I might say that it was not as…beautiful as Pangasinan, but hey, different places, different flavors right?

Anyway, what I liked most was the pool. It had lights underwater (giggle). It was tempting to swim naked (aahahah) but I wouldn’t want to scandalize my ever conservative boyfriend (wink!). The restaurant was another perk. There’s a balcony that’s overlooking the China Sea already. And you could actually smell the waves while you eat. If the tide is high, you could also feel the spray of water on your feet!

The cabin that we chose…was of course right beside the pool. Glen does not relish the idea of walking while dripping…so we really make it a point that the place we stay in is only a few steps away.

I really can’t get over the pool (giggle). It even has tables and stools underneath! A disco bar underwater!

Revisiting...San Fabian, Pangasinan

With the upcoming gimmick to Hundred Islands, I can’t help but remember all the other places that I have gone so far.

I don’t know why but so far…the PTA, Pangasinan is still the best. The scenery was so romantic and peaceful when I was there. I don’t have a lot of pictures of the place…but really..just imagine a resort, 500 meters away from any traffic. The front yard of the resort (which was wide) was shaded by giant mango trees (they did not have fruits then) and coconuts (I always see them with fruits). Then there’s this aisle with small white flowers on each side.

The first thing that you would notice when you get to the hotel is that it seems to be made of bamboo. It was breezy, even if there was no stand fan or air con running. But of course, I was sweating then because we had to walk the driveway.

It was worth it though. It was my first time to be away from home, with just my boyfriend (giggle, giggle). And I guess what really made it magical was I was with him.

We chose a cabin close to the pools – which was really nice because beyond the pool, you could also get a glimpse of the waves crashing on the beach (sigh).

The cabin was great…not because it was luxurious…but because it had air con (hehehe) and cable TV. And it was a few steps from the restaurant, about 5 steps away from the pool, and 10 steps away from the playground.

It rained on the afternoon but it didn’t matter. The waves looked beautiful, the pool was empty (we had it to ourselves)…and I was in love (sigh).

Operation: Hundred Islands

This is it!!! My dream of finally going to Hundred Islands will become true this April. Reunion galore with my old team mates when I was still a Tier1 agent.

In fairness, na miss ko talaga sila. Sana nga hindi maging stress trip lang ito. I'm kinda the event coordinator and doing the texting, the calling and the confirming of place, transpo and food is making me want to back out... Pero hindi. Once in a life time lang ito. I'm determined to have fun!!!

I will be posting the details of my 3 day vacation trip soon. Heheheh. I can't wait!!!

Where will my feet bring me?

Another typical day..wake up..go to work..go home..sleep. Janice and I would usually ride a cab and go to town together. And while we were chatting about other people's lives, she mentioned about a job opening in the Learning Department.

I got interested because it involves traveling. I've always wanted to go to different places.
Cguro nga rest less lang talaga ako. Di mapakali sa isang lugar. Kelangan always on the move.
